Quran E-city Specialized Center for Quran Researchers Print E-mail
Monday, 30 November 2009
The Quran Electronic City will be a specialized center for Quran researchers, said a scholar with the ISESCO National Commission in Iran.

According to Abbas Bayat, ISESCO has made it a priority since its launch to spread Quranic activities and related programs like teaching Arabic as the language of the noble Quran.

“It was based on this priority that the ISESCO National Commission welcomed the idea of the Quran E-city proposed by the Iranian Students Quranic Activities Organization (ISQAO),” he told IQNA. “We developed the idea at the commission and also held talks with ISQAO whereupon we came up with the idea of holding an international conference to discuss a model for Quran e-city in the cyberspace.”

He said that the conference would hopefully be held next year in Iran by the University Jihad with the cooperation of ISESCO’s cultural section in Iran.

Referring to the effect the project would have in the spread of Islam in the world, Bayat said, “Access to the cyber space has increasingly become easier in the world and that in turn has led to expansion of interactions in the cyber world. Thus, we can use the information technology in the third millennium to promote Islamic ideas, spread Quranic teachings and propagate Islam in the world.

“The Quran E-city would provide us with up-to-date information about Islam, new interpretations of Islam presented by the Islamic world’s scholars, research studies conducted on Quranic concepts, recitations of the verses of the noble Quran, methodology of using Quran interpretations, memorization of the Quran, and much else. These would benefit not only Muslims but all internet users around the world.”
